UAI 2013 - Scholarship Program
A limited number of scholarships will be provided to authors (students or not) of accepted papers in order to subsidize travel, registration, and housing expenses for UAI 2013. Whether the paper is a poster or an oral presentation is irrelevant.
We are also looking for a few student volunteers. These will be asked to help for 2-3 hours each day. 'helping' mostly means sitting behind the registration desk, helping with distribution of materials, solving small problems with registrations and equipment, and the like (of course we will make sure that nobody has to sit behind the registration desk during their own talk or poster presentation). In return, student volunteers get free registration, or additional funds if they are already getting a scholarship.
Application Process
Authors wishing to receive a UAI 2013 scholarship are asked to send a one-page application giving the following information:
- Name
- Institution
- Adress
- Phone number
- Paper accepted at UAI 2013
- Amount of support expected from your home institution, if any
- Expected travel cost
- Whether you have applied for or are receiving any other support
For students:
- Type of degree and expected completion date
- Name of advisor
- Whether you are interested in becoming a student volunteer (as explained above)
Applications (plain text, postscript or pdf) should be sent, in an e-mail with the title "UAI SCHOLARSHIP", to: uai.scholarships@gmail.com before Saturday, June 15th.
Note that, even if your scholarship gets accepted, you may only get a part of the amount you applied for - there is a fixed budget which has to be divided over all good applications.
