There has been an ongoing effort to minimize the effort required for researchers at different sites to share Bayesian networks via the establishment of an evolving standard file structure for representing Bayesian networks and influence diagrams. A meeting on the Bayes net interchange format (BNIF) will be held at UAI-96 on Thursday, August 1 at 7:30pm. The meeting is open to all interested people. Watch this page for additional background information, including current critical discussion issues on the interchange representation and format, and an overall agenda for the BNIF meeting. Results of the meeting will be summarized at the main UAI conference on Saturday, August 3 at 5pm.
People intending to participate in the meeting may wish to review information on the Bayesian Network Standards Home Page.
